Dejan is an experienced people management professional, university lecturer and author with more than 15 years of hands-on experience in the fields of HR management, organizational culture and leadership development.

Throughout his professional life, he has worked with international organizations from different industries including telecoms, ICT, FMCG, food & beverages and management consulting. Companies he worked with include T-Mobile, Telekom (Deutsche Telekom Group), as well as, Heineken and Coca-Cola HBC through their subsidiaries. He also led or was part of numerous projects with other organizations including T-Mobile International, GIZ, Magyar Telekom, Crnogorski Telekom, A1, Korn-Ferry, Hay Group, A.T. Kearney, Senn Delaney, different government institutions and non-government organizations.

Since 2012, Dejan is a visiting lecturer at postgraduate studies in operational and strategic management, lecturing Project Management, Team Management and Performance Management.

Several years before that, he started working on independent researches, consultancy projects, training delivery and executive coaching working with senior leaders and middle management from top notch companies.

Dejan is a frequent speaker at international HR, management and leadership conferences and forums.

Dejan is the author of numerous articles, guidebooks on management and HR topics, as well as, study books for lectures at postgraduate studies.

As a result of continuous research, he developed the STAR Culture Model, together with the STAR Engagement Model, STAR Leadership Competences and the TARGET Coaching Model.

Dejan holds a MSc. degree in Human Resources Management and certificates in Executive Coaching, Facilitation and Project Management.

Session: People, Culture, Leadership: The Key Elements for Winning in the New World

Having felt the consequences of the Covid crisis and heading towards a New World, organizations will need to adjust and change in order to keep high performance and win on the market. Three elements will be crucial to win in the New World – people, culture and leadership.

The presentation will contain guidance on what organizations should do for each of the 3 elements and will be supported by data from a research that I am currently doing.

Learning outcomes:

  • Participants will understand how organizations need to adjust and change in order to win in the New World (inc. strategy, priorities, adaptability customer approach etc.) focusing on people, culture and leadership.
  • Participants will understand what their organizations need to do concerning People, i.e. how to protect their people and prepare and equip for tomorrow. They will understand what they need to do for all employees, and what for their talents.
  • Participants will understand the importance of organizational culture (mindset, values, purpose) in the New World and how to build a unifying, strong and adaptable culture.
  • Participants will understand the importance of leadership for winning in the New World, as well as for the other 2 key elements to work. They will learn about the new type of leader (with the most important personal characteristics) and how to identify and develop their real leaders.
