CEO of NONG Precision Agriculture, Brazil
My name is Gabriel do Nascimento. At the end of 2015, I was approved in a very important program of the Brazilian Government, called Science Without Borders, which offers scholarships to study in the most prestigious universities around the world. I chose a Chinese university, and this decision changed my entire life!
I studied at one of the best engineering universities in Asia. During those years, I participated in many special projects with big companies, in which I could see the most innovative Drone technologies being developed in the whole world. Back in Brazil, I was sure I want to work with Drones. In 2018, I co-founded NONG Precision Agriculture, since then, our company is dedicated to changing the way agribusinesses view their assets and manage resources through Drone Mapping. To extract the true commercial value of drones, we are constantly developing a multifaceted technology that includes advanced artificial intelligence, robust software, and rich data analysis.
Session: Drones, Satellites, Satellite-based applications, Robotics and Automation for Precision Agriculture
Democratizing Precision Agriculture
Big data, Autonomous Tractors, IoT, are examples of technologies that have transformed agriculture. But they usually are expensive, leading to a slow adoption among small farmers.
Drone Mapping can be an affordable solution for growers who want to start adopting Precision Agriculture. In this session, we will show how our company helped a group of coffee farmers from a small Brazilian Cooperative, taking their traceability to the next level and increasing their profitability.
Learning outcomes:
- Participants will learn how to use Drone Mapping as an affordable Precision Agriculture solution.
- Participants will learn about the business opportunities involving small farmers.
- Participants will learn how Drone Mapping and georeferenced field notes can increase traceability.
