Session: Synergies between museums and videogames

In a world characterised by the digital convergence, the aim of the session is to analyse how the museum sector could create alliances with the videogame industry in order to fulfil their institutional missions (education, heritage promotion) and resorting to audiences which have become prosumers. In this sense, the present proposal will explore different examples of museums that have created gamified experiences, case studies of online videogames conceived from museum collections and others, related to the creation of events such as game jams about heritage topics.
